Hurt Locker and Profiler make it a double at Lismore

Apr 26, 2015

With an impressive maiden victory his previous start already on the board, 4yo Profiler was able to make the step up in to CL1 look easy as the gelding by Ready's Image beat his rivals by a length and a half in the Gateway Motel and Restaurant 1200m making it back to back wins. Profiler, who has previously showed a tendency to over race, was settled beautifully by Cassandra Schmidt and is proving to be a horse on the way up.

In the following race, and what was probably the run of the day, stablemate Hurt Locker pulled out a fantastic effort to claim the 1400m maiden in only his third career start. The 4yo Bite The Bullet gelding settled back in the field and ran down the favourite Little Miss Rocker who was all but home until the closing 100m. Hurt Locker's win was made all the more exciting as owner David Walter had made the trip up from Sydney to watch the race. Hurt Locker has proven to be somewhat of a patience tester for David and it had been some time since he had seen the horse in the flesh. Hurt Locker was ridden by stable apprentice Samantha Polo making it her 5th winner to date.
