Double The Excitement...

Nov 22, 2014

It was a great day for the stable on 22nd November at Ballina with all horses producing good runs and landing a double for the day. Starting the day in good form was classy 3yo Prince Of Speed, gallant in defeat in the first race to finish an eyecatching second. The fourth race saw Yo Ferdinand storming home in the hotly contested Open Handicap over 1300m to take the race from favourite Ebony Rein by 1.8 lengths. Both Prince of Speed and Yo Ferdinand were well ridden by Coffs Harbour jockey Raymond Spokes. The last race of the day saw stablemates Just So Bruno and Casino Bride go head to head in the Bm55 1255m with the flashy grey mare by Casino Prince coming out the victor, with Bruno make a big run late to finish 5th in a blanket finish. Casino Bride was having her first start for the stable and was ridden by new stable apprentice, 27yo Noriyuki Masuda from the Gold Coast. It was Noriyuki's second win for the day, taking the previous race aboard the Bryan Guy trained Hysterical Miss. Enjoying a full book of rides for the day, Noriyuki was well supported by both visiting Gold Coast and local trainers and further made his presence felt late in the day by winning both trials on our runners, 2yo gelding Nascosto and 4yo maiden Shah San Gabriel.
