Crichton All The Way

May 13, 2016

Stable newcomer Crichton led all the way for an impressive win in the Sky Central CL1 Handicap over 1400m at Ballina on the 13th of May. Carrying 60.5kg's and jumping from a wide barrier to lead the field was nearly too much for the former Victorian with the 4yo gelding by O'Reilly tiring a little in the closing stages, but managed to hold off fast finishing favourite Devil's Fire to score by 0.8lengths. Prior to making the trip north, Crichton had four starts with trainer Peter Moody before being transferred to John Sadler for a further three starts, and from his collective efforts he arrived at the stables with two placings and a last start win to his credit. Crichton's win was a thrill for his new syndicate of owners, many of which were there to enjoy his win.
