Profiler Sydney Championship Bound

Mar 06, 2016

The Country Championship Race held at Randwick over the Championship carnival and the qualifying series leading up to the event is a relatively new concept for Racing NSW and is proving a popular and very successful way to showcase talented country horses across NSW and providing country trainers a chance to compete for significant prizemoney in their own region in the hope of a chance to compete for the major prize on April 2nd. The qualifying round held at Grafton on the 6th of March saw a cracking field line up with our stable represented by last year runner up Voltaire Lumiere and the in form Profiler. Although an unfortunate barrier saw Voltaire wide throughout and his Sydney hopes dashed, Profiler had a lot more luck on his side. Coming off a very impressive last start win and drawing the number four barrier made Profiler a very attractive bet for punters and although seemingly flying under the radar in the betting ring the 4yo gelding piloted by Tegan Harrison dominated the race throughout and held off a fast finishing Ultimate Dreamer and early favourite Legendary Luke to land the prize and book himself a trip to Sydney in front of the enthusiastic Grafton crowd.
